It works but had side effects April 14, 2013
Reviewer: Amanda from Raleigh, NC

I used this product for about a week. I followed the directions and took 2 before each meal. I lost 2 pounds in 2 days! The downside to these pills are for one, they gave me a buzz; I felt high, spaced out! It wasn't a bad feeling, I could function and I had more energy and no headaches. But the other side effect was once I stopped taking them my face broke out with bad acne! I did some research and read that a lot of people complained of acne on their chest and back but mine was on my face! It was horrible! It took about a week to get the pills out of my system! My review is it works but I don't feel comfortable with feeling spaced out all the time or the acne, thanks but no thanks!

Amazing! October 06, 2012
Reviewer: Dana from United States

I usually work out daily, running 5 miles some days and walking 6 miles on other days. I will admit I am 5'3'' and was only 120 on the Thursday that I started taking Hydroxycut Caffeeine Free, and now (Saturday) I weigh in at 115. I started taking this aid to help with a very low metabolism due to an eating disorder I had for a while, but I've noticed that I can hold down smaller portions and I don't feel hungry again until the next day. No side effects, I have already recommended this product to friends!

dangerous June 14, 2012
Reviewer: Jennie from Mora, MN.

I have been taking this Product for a few months now. I have had wierd headaches, dizzy feeling lasting all day. Today I have been experiencing this all day and I only took the pills yesterday. I can't even concentrate today. I can't spell, think or function properly. My memory loss has been so bad some days that I have no idea where I am when I get up in the morning. This is not a safe product.

10 lbs in 3 days??? No joke! April 11, 2012
Reviewer: T.S. from Los Angeles, CA, USA

Yes, that's right: on Sunday night, I weighed myself at 230. I stepped on the scale today, and I weigh 220 (I'm 6'2 and very stout). And the weight loss is visible - the piece of fat that hung under my jaw is nearly gone, upper body and fat around my waist is greatly diminished. Went down two rungs on my belt and most of my clothes are fitting a bit big now.

Now: here's the caveat... I rode about 60 miles on my bike in that time. This is not totally abnormal for me; I ride on average about 100 miles a week for fitness (not commuting), and have been doing this for about the last four months. I keep a very strict vegetarian diet, no sodas, no energy drinks or coffee. I've dropped a lot of weight in the last few monhs, but this much in this short a time is unreal.

I can't comment on how this stuff will work for you if you still plan on being sedentary and eating McDonald's for breakfast and lunch and then Hamburger Helper for dinner, but if you are actually using this as a SUPPLEMENT to your workout routine, this stuff really rocks.

I chose the caffeine-free variety because heart disease runs in my family and it's the main reason I'm getting back in shape. Caffeine can aggrevate heart problems. The caffeine free Hydroxycut doesn't give you a "rush" like most energy/weight loss supplements; it's more gradual. I take it along with my other vitamins, and then not long after, my body is telling me to go for a ride or lift something.

I have noticed a couple side effects, and a change in my workout routine. Although I ultimately am able to ride longer, and feel way more pumped for way longer after my ride, riding up hills actually seems to take more out of me than before, and I also seem to recover from a serious burst of exertion about a minute longer than before (for instance, when I pedal hard to pass a slow-moving car). Previously, it only took about 30 seconds to feel recovered.

I have had a harder time sleeping, and I already have insomnia issues. Picked up some liquid melatonin to take care of that and got to sleep normally last night; woke up earlier than usual, and ready to go jump on my bike.

I'm drinking WAY more water than before - used to drink 1 liter of water per 20 miles, now drinking about 2.5. I notice dry mouth much more quickly and frequently than before.

If you're serious about a workout routine and lifestyle change, or already are an athlete and want to shed some fat for the summer, this is your stuff!

Works great for me March 05, 2012
Reviewer: Jenna from Seattle, WA

I bought the caffeine free version because I am super sensitive to stimulants, a grande latte will make me feel like I'm having a heart attack. I have been taking hydroxycut caffeine free for 2 weeks, have sort of been watching what I eat, but I have to admit have only exercised twice, yet as of today I have lost 8 pounds so far! I have had no jitters or any major issues, the only side effect I have had is heartburn/reflux symptoms, but I bought some prilosec otc and that fixed that. So now I am completely side effect free and losing weight. I highly recommend this product!

Fever & Headache February 21, 2012
Reviewer: Jason from Singapore

Took 2 tablets before breakfast for the first time and had fever for that day. I was not aware that the fever was caused by the Hydroxycut tablet. Tried that again and had fever and headache. Still not suspicious as there was this flu epidemic here. Took a week break and tried again on last Friday and had a headache. Started to suspect Hydroxycut was the culprit. Tried again on Saturday before heading out to the zoo with my family. Had a terrible headache and could not stay focus the whole time. I rarely have headaches and found this strange. I have stopped taking and threw the bottle away. My head still feels heavy now. Having read from others complaining about headaches, I believe that is the cause!! Be very careful!

DONT DO IT!! April 07, 2011
Reviewer: Samantha from Lakeview, MI USA

Ive been taking hydroxycut for a few weeks, but I use half the recommended dosage. I would take two pills before breakfast. I decided to cut out the drug and eat healthier food. First of all, I became dizzy and disoriented. I began tripping over my own feet!! My heart rate dropped to 65bpm!! My husband came rushing home to take care of me. I was completely exhausted and passed out for several hours, my husband came & checked on me to make sure I was still breathing. It's been a few days and my bowel movements are still not normal. My system is still purging the drug.
If you want to lose weight watch what you eat & exercise. (It's not difficult at all) Donate your "fatty foods" to a food bank and load up on healthy foods. Go on a walk!! Fresh air & sunlight does the body good. If you still want to use this drug PLEASE, please be careful!! I honestly thought I was going to die & I will never use any weight loss drug again, ESPECIALLY HYDROXYCUT CAFFINE FREE!!

Well its my first day today in taking this new caffeine free hydroxycut pills. The first one I took was the regular hydrocut pills 2 weeks ago and felt like I was having a heart attack, then I went to the hospital and my blood pressure was sorta high. Im now starting this new 1 caffeien free, maybe it was the caffeine that caused this. Hopefully now with this new product I wont feel so much tremor or heart attacks!!

It works, but i had a side affect September 28, 2009
Reviewer: Nicole from NY, USA

Ok, i did notice some weight loss results after taking this product for a few days. I only experienced one side affect that i seem to get from every weight loss pill i take and that is, Constipation. I dont know what it is, but these pills dry my body out and then i have horrible problems going go the bathroom. So to anyone who already have constipation problems, i wouldnt recommend you taking these pills, as it will just make your problems worse-most likely. I did lose a few pounds, but as of now, i must stop taking them because if i dont i know i will just run into more problems with my body.

Hydroxycut Caffeine Free July 23, 2009
Reviewer: Anonymous from North Carolina

I have been taking Hydroxycut Caffeine Free for a week, and I have had absolutely no side effects. The only side effect I have had is more energy!! I want to work out 2-3 times daily now because my energy level is so high. This is a great product for those of you that desire little or no side effects.

it is easy on the stomach July 08, 2009
Reviewer: Brooklyn-cyclist from new york city

Male-30, work out 5 times a week.

I chose the caffeine free version because I have an extremely sensitive stomach and caffeine is an irritant. If I drink more than one small cup of coffee a day, I get stomach ache. so far 3 days into taking 4 pills a day, there is no stomach ache. Still early to see if I'll loose weight but overall I feel well and normal.

reason for the headaches April 22, 2009
Reviewer: Headaches be gone from Baltimore, MD USA

In references to the headaches using the hydroxycut caffeine free... If you are a person that consumes a lot of caffeine and you change your diet and use hydroxycut caffeine free you are cutting out the caffeine your body is used to intaking. Caffeine has a natural ingrediant that the body some how functions with it and the lack of it can cause headaches. Therefore, you are probably expierencing headaches because your body is no longer getting the ingrediant that is in caffeine. just like any addict if you drink a lot of soda or coffee sometimes if you dont drink it for a while you get headaches, crack open one and drink it back...headache is gone. that is what most likely if you expeirce headaches as a side affect is from the withdraw fromt he caffeine

The rack in a bottle!! April 21, 2009
Reviewer: Russ from San Francisco, CA

I only took the caffeine free Hydroxycut for 3 days. Strangely enough I noticed a 3lb loss, but no results are worth how I feel. At the end of day 2 I was feeling a little achy. Day 3 it hurt to walk, I had a bad headache and my back hurt. I didn't take the evening dose last night or anything today and I'm damn near a cripple! My back is in excrutiating pain when I do anything. I thought a sneeze this morning would kill me. My whole body aches, although my headache is slightly better than yesterday. I tossed and turned last night. I don't know if it was as a result of ingredients or the pain of not being able to find a comfortable position. Hell, it could be both. In any event, I don't recommend this fine product to anyone. I've got friends that swear by it, but clearly some of us have drastically different body chemistries! Danger, Will Robinson!

Fortune Cookie April 03, 2009
Reviewer: Jen from Columbia, MD

The product is amazing. It is so much better than the regular hydroxycut because it does not give you the jitters or make your heart beat faster. I've tried both. Since, last week I've lost 7lbs, of course I also excerise everyday as well as count my calorie intake. Before, I was constantly hungry although, I would watch what I would eat as well as excerise I would stay at the same weight for a month. Thank you hydroxycut.

Caff-Free Hydroxycut - Fast Weightloss! March 20, 2009
Reviewer: Gin from San Diego, CA

I started this on Tuesday morning, taking 2 caplets, 1/2-1hour before each meal. The first day, my stomach was a little upset by the evening time, but after that, I had no other issues. On Tuesday I weighed in at 254lbs, and on Friday morning, I weighed in at 248lbs - that's 6lbs in 4 days! I've been drinking about 120oz-200oz of water each day, but it helps keep me "full" and away from snacks. Also - I'm extremely sensitive to caffeine, so this version was ideal - I've had no problems sleeping, etc. The only side effect has been weight loss!

Reviewer: Elisa from Miami, FL

There's no problem of taking naps (this is, if you can, hehehe)! They advise you not to take withing 5 hours before bedtime just because you may experience problems to be able to sleep.

I had already used the RFA-1 and it was great, lost the fat I had on my belly completely and as I run daily, it didn't come back! The only problem I faced was a hard time to sleep! That's why I bought this one... let's see how it goes! I'm not fat... I'm pretty athletic, but still have some deposited fat here and there that would like to get rid of. Am going to start tomorrow together with gym + diet... will be back later to tell you the results!

Good luck to all!! :D

So far so good February 12, 2009
Reviewer: Carly from Fort Riley, KS

Today is the 4th day that I have been on hdroxycut the caffeine free version and I have already lost 4 lbs. So after the 3rd day I have lost 4 lbs. I have had no side effects. I battle with anxiety and sometimes I am borderline panic attack so thats why I choose the caffeine free version. I took 1 pill and felt fine, I took a total of 3 pills the 1st day and felt normal. The next day I took the recommended 2 pills and realized that it made my anxiety go up to where I felt like I was gonna have a panic attack so now I only take 1 pill at a time for a total of 3 pills a day and I feel great. I feel totally normal and I have not been eating that great and I am still losing weight. I will start eating better soon and plus I run about 8 miles a week

Very Tired December 06, 2008
Reviewer: Elizabeth from Canada

HELLO EVERYONE!

I am a 20 year old female with a clean history of health. I taking the CAFFIENE FREE HYDROXYCUT to lose about 15 pounds. I am 5'3 and weigh 140lbs. I have been taking it for three days now and find that I am always ABSOLUTELY EXHAUSTED! Now, I'm not sure if this is the pills taking effect or the fact that I am just tired from school and work and stress etc. I have noticed that some others are feeling fatigue too.

I recently lost 40 lbs by just diet and exercise. An entire lifestyle change. But recently with school and work it has been hard to keep up with exercising. I started off by taking the recommended dosage right off the bat. 2 pills three times daily before meals. BUT it really hasn't curbed my appetite that much.

DO I HAVE TO WAIT LONGER TO SEE RESULTS?

And also people PLEASE REMEMBER THAT THIS REVIEW BOARD IS FOR CAFFIENE FREE PRODUCT USERS. I have been reading many posts from regular Hydroxycut, and Hydroxycut Max or something. I am going to continue taking it for a week and see what happens. So far no results. Just really tired.

Hydroxycut Max v. Hydroxycut Caffeine Free??? November 19, 2008
Reviewer: Anonymous from Florida

I started taking Hydroxycut Max 3 days ago. 1st day felt soooo good, worked out, had lots of energy, no side effects. 2nd day I got a little moody, now on 3rd day have a dull headache that's not going away even by drinking tons of water! I work out 3 to 4 times per week plus on strict diet. I'm 5'7 about 148...would like to be at 135. HC-M does give me that "gotta do something right now" feeling. Wish I could be working out instead of sitting behind a desk for 8 hrs!! And Yes..in the bathroom every 15-20 minutes too! I'm not sure if I'm going to increase the dose, at 1 pill 2x a day. I'm thinking about giving HC-M a few more days and if I still keep getting headaches then I'm going to try caffeine free instead. Good luck everyone!

Hydroxycut works! October 18, 2008
Reviewer: Brit- from usa

I bought caffiene free hydroxycut and had no side effects except for decreased appetite. I went online to read reviews for the product and found a lot on the hydroxycut with caffeine so i went and bought that one too. I'm experiencing with both - the caffeine one makes me hyper and anxious but not so much jittery and shakey. It also makes me urinate every 15-20 minutes! And i experienced a headache or two but once i drank water it went away. As for the caffeine free ones, it will decrese your appetite and i take 2 before i go to bed instead of the ones with caffeine so it doesnt keep me up! I will say tho, the hydroxycut with caffiene makes me moody! But it works. I'm 5'8 and weighed 148 before i started. I now weigh 142, I lost 6 lbs in four days. Pretty good if i say so myself. I havent started working out yet but been watching my calorie intake. Will update once i start cardio. Hope this helped--good luck!

Amazing product. October 15, 2008
Reviewer: Kristen from Taunton MA, USA

Im 19 years old, 5'5 and in January hit my peak weighing a whopping 203lbs.

I started using hydroxycut in March, worked out 3-5 days a week, mostly cardio, i'd say an hour a day or a little more. By May,two months later I weighed 160 lbs, which was awesome! I also ate chicken and brown rice, fruits and veggies, no fast food or junk food.

I know that diet and exercise is the reason i lost all the weight bu t the pill DEFINITELY helped me reach my goal. I stopped using it until now and Im trying to lose 20 more lbs before christmas hopefully. =)

Good luck!

ughhh October 14, 2008
Reviewer: Kate from California, USA

I am a 20 year old female. Until a little over a year ago, I would not exercise at all. I started going to the gym in August of 2007 and definitely saw some results, but nothing drastic. In January 2008 I began meeting with a personal trainer. At the beginning I weighed 134 and had a body fat percentage of 26.6%. I just recently ended my sessions and now weigh 142!! my body fat has dropped to 23.3%, but I am very uncomfortable looking at myself in the mirror. If anything, I've been working out more and harder since I started meeting with the trainer, but no results.. in fact negative ones. I am in college so I do drink heavily about 1 night per week, which the trainer said is not helping, but i stopped drinking all together for 2 months and that is when the weight gain happened. Yesterday I bought hydroxycut caffeine free and I have been taking it since. I haven't seen any results yet, but also have not had any side effects. I work out 7 days/week and eat healthily. Does anyone know if the hydroxycut will help?!?!

Used it before, using it again September 19, 2008
Reviewer: Dave from CT

I have used the stimulant-free version of hydroxycut before - about 2 years ago - in conjunction with an exercise routine to lose about 10-15 lbs in a shorter than normal span of time. On my first use I experienced issues with irregular heartbeats and occasional dizziness and went to a doctor. Now I had indicated that I was using diet pills, but he was more concerned about something else. He brought to light a very interesting point: most people begin taking dietary supplements when they begin a new exercise routine, more often than not after they have gone a long time without exercising. The point he was getting at was that many people work too hard for those first few days or the first couple of weeks; not resting enough, not eating enough, and pushing their bodies too hard before they readjust to the strain they are placing on their muscles, heart, and circulatory system. This alone can result in the same irregular heart rates and chest pains that people experience.

After hearing this i toned down my workout a bit and got into a light routine. A week or so later i stepped it up a notch and felt fine. I am not saying that hydroxycut wont cause this in some people, but just saying that starting an exercise routine is not just all body. Be mindful of yourself and the supplements you are taking. If you do experience unusual symptoms, reevaluate your situation and ask these simple questions: Am I exercising too hard, am I taking the pills when I should be and in the right amount, am I eating the right foods to compensate for my exercising? Oh, and always see a doctor. What you may think is exercise or supplement related, may actually be a heart-related condition. It's better to be safe than sorry.

And yes, I am using it again.

Dave

5 Months August 25, 2008
Reviewer: Markis from Austin, Texas

I started this product on April 1st. This is also the day I began working out regularly. I'm 31 years old, 6'3" and was 240lbs at the time. I started taking one a day just before I workout and it is a great energy booster making me feel like a rock during my workout.

Over the next few months my workout programs changed drastically. I am now doing strength training three days a week and cardio for two days but my cardio is a twice a day program. I rest on Saturdays but on Sundays I run sprints and do body weight exercises. I only take two hydroxycut during the day- one when I get to the office and the other right before I head to the gym. I do not take it on Sundays. I have lost 30lbs total but I'm sure I have put on between 5-10lbs of muscle and I think that's being modest.

Because of my vigorous workout schedule, it's hard to say if the hyrdroxycut has a direct relation to my weight loss especially since I only take 1/3 of the recommended dose but it sure does give me that boost of energy to see my workouts through. I've never experienced and side effects what-so-ever and my girlfriend doses the exact amount of HD I do and at the exact times. She worksout about two hours a day/five days a week and she has seen considerable weight loss as well.

Well worth it August 22, 2008
Reviewer: Crystal from Sunny Florida

I was very skeptical to use this product at first. I am a 24 year old female who wasnt obese but overweight due to the birth of a child a year ago. I was about 20 lbs overweight (I'm 5'2) so my goal was to loose all of it, hopefully within an 11 week span. I must stress that I do exercise 4-6 times a week, only for about a 45 minute session though on those days. I have now cut my calories down to around 1500 a day. Some days more, some days a little less. I wouldnt follow advice of a poster below. You must intake 1200 calories a day, a minimum for women, or your body will start to go into starvation mode and therefore causing you to gain more weight once you stop taking these pills. They are not a miracle pill where you can cut down your calories and sit around all day. If you want to see the full effects of these then you must exercise, along with having a healthy diet. So far I have lost over 10lbs in 3 weeks!!! I would really recommend this product. I take the caffeine free ones, since I am not a caffeine drinker.

HD July 31, 2008
Reviewer: Jonathan from usa

ive used HD for about 2 weeks, so far so good,im 6'1 210 i play football so im always active...i don't use the pill to lose weight, just to get cut, muscle weights more than fat and since im lifting lots of weights but also doing lots cardio im getting bigger and gaining weight...HD is really working for me, at 210 i have almost no fat and six pac abs. also its not a bad idea to take creatine wile on HD it helps you build the muscle that you want without losing all the weight.

ADVICE: DONT TAKE MORE THAN 6 PILLS

DAILY, AND DON'T TAKE IT RIGHT BEFORE BED BECAUSE YOU WONT BE ABLE TO SLEEP.

Working Great! July 12, 2008
Reviewer: Becky B from Orange Co, California

Hello Everyone! I just wanted to write in and let you know how much I would strongly reccomend this product! I have always been a little over weight and because of hormone imbalances it is very difficult for me to lose weight...I have tried many "fad" diets and taken other diet pills and have never found something that works better than caffine free hydroxycut!

I have experienced no terrible side effects, I DO NOT feel anxious or jittey, and it has really helped curb my cravings and eat less in each meal. I am drinking a lot of water, about 60-70 oz a day and that is also great for weight loss! I have also been counting my calories along with taking this supplement as I do not like to exercise very often, so keeping a low cal count (under 1200 a day) and taking hydroxycut has already helped me lose 5 lbs in my first week! I couldn't be happier, I can eat anything in moderation and I'm not experiencing cravings anymore!! YAY :)

One week...no results July 10, 2008
Reviewer: TDT from Virginia

I never thought I would take a supplement but I am slowly gaining weight and can't figure out why. I exercise every day, sometimes twice a day, eat well (maybe not enough for my activity). I can't lose freakin' 5 pounds. I started HC last week, one pill 3xs a day. No results. So now I am on 2 pills, 3xs a day. I hope to see result. My cravings are curbed.

Side effects: More bowel movements, a little twitch in my eye.

Will this work for me?

5 Stars So Far... July 09, 2008
Reviewer: Angela from Baltimore, MD

I have to be very careful when taking supplements of any kind. I have a Mitral Valve Prolapse and many things send my heart racing to the point of having to lay down w/my feet up and hold my breath to make it stop. Scary. So when I saw Caffiene Free Hydroxycut, I was excited to see what happened. I did a little research and felt it ok to try. Sure, I was concerned about all the tea in it because even though it says Caffiene Free, I know tea still has some small amounts of natural caffiene, but not enought to bother you much. I finally bought it, and decided to take my first pill at 8pm to see if it kept me awake... then I'd know for sure! It did not keep me up. I felt energized for a short time, then I slept really well when I went to bed at 11:30. So the next morning I took them as instructed... 2 pills 3 x/day 30 minutes before a meal. I can say that each time I take two, if it has been a while since I've eaten, I feal a little bit jittery, maybe anxious... but it passes --- and it is not a bad or scary feeling to me. I have now been taking them for over a week, and my clothes fit better. Amazing, because I work out regularly and eat right, but over the past 3 years I have somehow managed to add 20 lbs to myself and can not get it off! I am currently 155, but you can not tell by looking at me. I only wear a size 8 and am 5'4". I hope that this will not only help me look better in my clothes... as it is already starting to do, but make me lose those extra pounds! I think it will!!! :)

So I'm taking it. June 23, 2008
Reviewer: Devi from Inland Northwest

So some of the nurses here take it and they swear by it. I figured I know what's in it so I might as well take it.

I started before breakfast. Two pills. They have a really sweet taste, the pills are medium sized, go down easy, light pink in color, with the hydroxcut logo on the side relief cut into the pill.

I did not drink coffee on this morning to get an idea of how the pills would make me feel. Within ten minutes I started to "feel" the pill working. No jitters, no rapid heartbeat, just a feeling of anxiousness. If you are a person prone to anxiety attacks I could see how this could turn into one. For the rest of us it is simply a matter of understanding you just took a suppliment.

The feeling was short lived though and wore off within the hour. I then immediatley discovered the dieretic effects of the pills were happening. I became thirsty, urinated every 15 minutes, and I got a leg cramp on the right side. Drinking more water than I normally do cured me of the above.

30 minutes before lunch two more pills. Same feeling as I had during breakfast but less and it did not last for as long which was dissapointing. I drank a cup of coffee. Again I began urinating every 15 to 20 minutes, again more water stopped these effects.

I had my workout during lunch and found it to be unremarkable, like every other workout.

30 minutes before my dinner two more pills, again the feeling of anxiousness, or almost a feeling of wanting to go outside and run around the block, but it passed within 20 minutes, I ate my dinner and went to bed. The pills did not keep me awake. I did get up twice to urinate in the middle of the night.

The next morning I took a normal bowel movement. The pills did not upset my stomach nor give me diarrea. No jitters or crash. Just that feeling of anxiousness. I can describe it as a feeling of unease, or a feeling you have to do something right now.

I would not suggest this for anyone that has a sensitivity to anxiety, but for people who are only affected strongly by caffine I think these pills would be OK for you.

My urine at first was a bright orange but after upping my water intake tunred an interesting color I can only discribe as neon green.

Since it's only been two days in I can not tell you about weight loss.

It is in my non-professional opinion that it is a strong dieretic and you could expect to lose about 15 pounds of water weight if taking the pills correctly with a low fat diet in about two months. Water weight will effect the scale but not your BF%.

That said I found myself drinking a lot of water, more than I normally would, to counteract the effects.

I will take the whole bottle and test my BF%. For the record I am 18.8% BF now.

So see you in one month.

I did all the research for you. June 12, 2008
Reviewer: Devi from Inland Northwest

First year medical student. Thought I could help here.

I will assume here that most everyone knows what Calcium, Chromium as Picolinate, and Potassium is so I won't explain those. Potassium in the dose in CAFFINE FREE Hydroxycut (218mg) will act as a diretic so use with lot's of water.

First up:

Garcinia Cambogia-Has been found in lab rats to help the liver metabolize fat lipids. It also has a slight effect on the liver's ability to store the fat. Also has a stimulant effect without effecting the nervous system, which is proven in tests, and will not leave you shakey or nervous, also proven in countless studies.

Gymnema Sylvestre-To keep it simple, it will make you poop.

Phosphatidylserine-Is found in fish and green veggies. The fact they say it is soy based is curious. Perhaps so vegans and vegitarians will still use the product? It has been thought to help speed muscle recovery from workouts, which is not scientifically proven, yet.

Rhodiolia Rosea-Stimulant. Plain in simple. Not as in your face like caffine, but it can in some make it hard to sleep, it has also been used in real world applications like medical, military, and athletics. You don't get the crash and the effect lasts longer than with caffine.

All that tea stuff is filler.

Other Ingredients:

Microcrystalline Cellulose-Keeps the pill together in your stomach acid.

Hydroxypropyl Cellulose-is a drug called fake tears. Got dry eyes you put this in them to make your eyes feel refreshed. Have no idea why it's in here, or why Hydroxycut names themselves after this chemical.

Crospovidone-Expands blood plasma. Harmless, filler maybe?

Croscarmellose-A binding agent that allows the stuff in pills to get into your blood stream better. Harmless really.

The rest of the crap you will find in any package of food including mac and cheese, and almost all sodas.

Hope you found this helpful.

No negative reactions- May 31, 2008
Reviewer: Happy so far.. from Massachusetts

I have a very sensitive stomache. In fact if I have a cup of coffee on an empty stomach I could be sick for a day or two. I am pleased to say that I have been taking Caffeine Free Hydroxycut for a week now and haven't experienced any negative reactions. I had recently lost 13 lbs. (from 137-124) but couldn't seem to get over the hump. I am eating well, running 3-5 miles 5X a week and working out with weights. This week I am happy to say I lost 1.5 lbs. the only thing I changed was adding the Hydroxycut.

Great Pill!..no anxiety attacks yet and good results! May 26, 2008
Reviewer: Nicole from Pittsburgh Pa

Reading everyones reviews is making me crazy. I used to have severe anxiety attacks and I'm extra sensitive to caffiene but I have had no episodes while on it. I take it as recomended..it actually makes me feel really good.. more energy and I've been losing a good deal of weight. I've had NO panic attacks, stomach aches,or headaches. My husband takes the regular Hydroxycut and he has really bad gas. But the Caff-Free doesnt do that for me. I think this is a good product if used correctly and don't eat like a hog while your on it. I walk 3-4 times a week with the family for my exercise and that works. Everyone is different though. I don't use a scale because I don't wanna become a nut.. but I've dropped from a size 14 to a 10 in a few weeks.

Caffeine free Hydroxycut May 16, 2008
Reviewer: Michelle from Athens, GA

I have about 10 pounds to take off. I have been taking caffeine free hydroxycut for three days now. I started with the normal dosage. The pills are making me sick to my stomach every time I take them. I have also noticed that my stomach will hurt two hours later after eating a small snack. I feel like throwing up. I run half marathons, and I am struggling with my running workout because my stomach will start to hurt after about twenty minutes of running. The only thing I have changed is taking hydroxycut so it has to be the pills. I may give it another day or two to see if I can adjust, but if I don't feel better I am stopping the pills. I can see why someone would lose weight -if you feel nautious all the time you don't feel like eating. That's not how I want to lose my weight.

Had to call 911 May 05, 2008
Reviewer: Stacy from MD, USA

I started Hydroxycut Max two days ago and was pleased to lose 2.5 lbs. I followed the directions to a tee (taking only 2 pills instead of the entire dose of 6 daily) I drank close to a gallon of water daily and took a multivitamin and ate right and exercised. I have a very good tolerance to caffeine and two cups of coffee a day doesn't affect me in any way. However, this product may have more caffeine that that because today I had a headache, my blood pressure rose, but nothing compared to what happend after I took an afternoon nap (due to the fact that I didn't sleep til 5:30 this morning). I got up to use the restroom and was really dizzy, okay, no biggie, but then my heart started to race. I was alone and started to get scared and pulled out my heart rate monitor. My heart rate was 144 and I was just sitting. I took out my cell phone and punched in 911 but didn't press send. I sat there calling on the name of Jesus and trying to breathe. I have NEVER felt like that before, I just knew that I was going to die. So, even though the product is an excellent appetite suppressant, if I take it anymore, I might not have an appetite to suppress. I was considering the Caffeine free version, but from some of the posts and what I experienced just a few minutes ago, I think not!

Now im starting to do stomach exercises. My goal is to weight 190. The caffeine free one is better for me though. The regular can make you a hyper. Hydroxycut Caffeine Free March 29, 2008
Reviewer: One fat momma from Orlando, FL

I was looking to try something new. Mistakingly, I took hydroxycut caffeine free at night thinking the label was not stimulating since it said "caffeine free". Well don't believe it would be safe to take in the evening at all or at least not after 2:00 p.m.. It will definitely give you jitters, nervousness, and increase your heart rate which is very scary. I even tried only a slither of this pill and the effects are the same. On the other side, it works on burning fat almost immediately. That part I did like.

If you have stomach problems beware! February 27, 2008
Reviewer: Strella from Garden City

I have been taking Hydroxycut Max for about 1 week now. I have been pleased with it so far, I drink the recommended amount of water and I maintain 1200-1500 calories per day. Only I have a very sensitive stomach when it comes to caffeine, so I have been having some pain and slight naseua. Because of this, and only this, I don't feel it is appropriate for me to continue taking it. If there is someone looking to try it I would say if you have problems with heart burn, acid reflux or a hiatal hernia (like me)....stay away from this, it will only upset you more. I was thinking to try the Caffeine free.....if not I'm going it natural....it's not worth having this much of an uncomfortable feeling.

Safe to use with Alli? January 23, 2008
Reviewer: Libby from Dayton, Ohio

Just purchased caffeine-free Hydroxycut and started it yesterday. Like others, I think it is best to start with only 1 pill (instead of 2) before each meal for the first couple of days. Last night, I felt very gittery and with headaches, but better today on Day 2. I already feel more energized and thinner, as you tend to go to the bottom a lot and are initially losing water weight. BTW, I am a 49 year old women who was generally in great shape with doing nothing until I was 40, now 40 pounds have crept on due to a sluggish metabolism. My question for anyone is: do you think this is safe to use with other supplements, such as Alli (orlistat)? I started Alli about a month ago, and have dropped a couple of pounds on this but no real great results. This is with exercise also.

Doing well December 31, 2007
Reviewer: Jason Woods from Richmond, VA

I would say that hydroxycut isn't for everyone. I have a history of heart problems, but it still works fine for me. Just like anything else you take, your body needs to get used to this new dose of ingredients. I have been taking hardcore for about 3 weeks now, and I've lost about 10 lbs, no joke. I've ALSO been eating no GREASE, no fried food whatsoever. I would every now and then eat mexican food, but nothing crazy, like chicken fajitas or something grilled. I have been eating grilled chicken all the time, and eating cereal in the morning. Lots of little meals throughout the day keep your metabolism going and helps curb your appetite. Like I said before, this isn't for everyone, and YES even though I took 1, then 2 and now 3 pills a serving, I did feel jittery or hyper and had trouble falling asleep even when I took it at 5PM and tried to sleep at midnight. Once your body gets used to it, you will be just fine! Give it 2 weeks, and if you still feel crazy jittery and nervous along with sickness, then try something else. Keep in mind, your body must get used to it, don't just give up after 2 days because you don't think its working, give it time! Patience is everything.

Miracle in a Bottle November 02, 2007
Reviewer: RJC from Seattle, WA

I went to Hawaii last spring break and basically ate whatever the hell I wanted. Came back 180 lbs, and I am 6'3", so I was not seriously overweight, but I had some pudgy spots.

Started hydroxycut in April, kept my diet super clean, eating six time daily with 2 pills before each of the three major meals (1-hour before to be precise). Weight-lifted three times a week with 15 mins of intense cardio after, then did longer cardio three days a week in between my weight days. Took saturdays off to rest.

By June when I took my last pill, I had dropped to 155 lbs, had great endurance, looked great (six pack and veins all over, woohoo!), and had 7% body fat. Kept it off until about mid-october. I started going crazy with desert, got really stressed out due to college, and just basically started binge eating.

It's really sad. I'm up to about 160 lbs now, my abs are mostly gone, but I'm still healthy and within normal weight, so I'm just going to go it easy on the food, stay sensible, and exercise like I continued to do.

I regained the weight, not because I quit hydroxycut, but because I made bad choices. It was entirely me. Yeah you're going to regain weight if you go back to making crappy food choices, especially me. I would sometimes eat about 2,000 calories in 10 minutes, at night mind you, because I was so stressed during the two week "binge" period.

Anyways, hydroxycut is really powerful, as a tool, but you have to be smart and sensible about it. I believe it also has a sort of motivation placebo effect. You paid money, so of course you want to work your ass off.

Thus, you see results.

Put it to GOOD use October 11, 2007

I started working out in April, I was going to the gym 4-5days a week and doing 2hrs of work out...I had already lost like 15-20lbs by June, in late June I started to take Hydroxycut..I must say I didnt lose twice the about of weight as I was before...With going to the gym daily, and eating GOOD...I was losing lots of weight...I did notice somethings my stomach would be upset...but it went away fast...so far I've lost over 70 lbs in 7 months. I did stop taking the pill at the end of July and I lost 15 more pounds..

Hydroxycut side effects October 09, 2007
Reviewer: E. Hansen from Texas

I want to point out one thing that I have noticed in reading these articles. I understand that this is an appetite suppressant. You need to eat to gain muscle performance. It is imperative that you eat after taking the recommended dosage. Those of you with heart burn this should help you reduce this side effect especially if you eat bland foods in the first place. Highly acidic foods can lead to excess stomach acid and may cause heartburn like tomatoes and citrus. So eat up and eat healthy high nutrition low calorie. This should also help with heart burn and make sure you are taking in 120+oz of water per day; this will help facilitate Hydroxycut’s performance.

Also make sure you hit the fiber hard Flaxseed, fiber cereal, and non-acidic fruits this in combination with the water should help those of you who are stopped up ro constipated. Your Omega 3's can help too but not as much as the fiber. Avoid cokes and caffeinated beverages. One last note eating properly and good hydration will help relieve the headaches and prevent fatigue and weakness while stabilizing glucose levels in the body. We need food and food is a must to maintain good metabolic rates… There is no golden pill for weight loss, just hard work.

hydroxycut is a product which works October 07, 2007
Reviewer: Ace from atlanta, ga

I started using hydroxycut about three months ago for two months only and exercised at least 5 hours on a stepper with arm exercises. The results really spoke for themselves. The first month using it I lost 7Ibs, second month 8Ibs, and then I stopped. I was 170 in june 2007 and as of today Im 140Ibs, and dont forget I only useed it for two months and I still lost weight after the two months. Oh, yeah I also fixed up my diet by eating right no fizzy drinks or sodas, no fast food or once in a blue moon, and a lot of water during the day. Believe me if you make these minor changes now they can benefit u in the years to come. Do wat I did, commit to urself that u r willing to make changes in ur lifestyle and not think of hydroxycut that it's gonna do the work for u, but that u r willing to make changes for urself by eating low healthy calorie diet(1500/day) with exercise and using hydroxycut as a booster. Also get a diet journal and write down everything u eat everyday from snack to all ur other meals and adding the calories which should not exceed 1500-1600 calories a day. U can find good diet journals on amazon.com for about $14-15. Dont be impatient to see results and check ur weight weekly not everyday, do wat i did and u will definitely see the new u, but strong commitment is needed for success, and i mean really strong commitment. Good luck on deciding watever suits u!!!!!!!!

Read And You Will Succed September 26, 2007
Reviewer: J-Rod from Dayton, Ohio

Although some may not be able to avoid the side effects, you can greatly reduce and control them. Simply read the directions on the side of the box. Start slow- preferable at half the dosage of three pills a day so your body can adjust to them. Then, slowly increase the dosage. I'm an amatuer bodybuilder and ISSA certified trainer. I've had great success with Hydroxycut. People need to stop crying about ephedra being banned. That just means you have to work a little harder in the gym- if you want the results you gotta suck it up.

for people with shakyness, anxiety etc. September 25, 2007
Reviewer: James from TX, US

I just wanted to add that all of the people that experience shakyness, shortness of breathe and anxiety (those that had to go the hospital) it is because your bodys normal level of anxiety is being raised higher into what might be an unhealthy one. So many people encounter this while taking a weightless supplement because normally when they start taking it, they also begin to suddenly eat less, and exercise more- skyrocketing you natural level of anxiety. Not to mention that most of them contain insane amounts of caffeine (which directly effects the nervous system). everyones body handles this differently, some maybe extremely sensitive and be thrown into heart racing panic attacks (that once triggered may ruminate on for some time to come) while others feel nothing. I am a person that has dealt with anxiety attacks my entire life and have met alot of other people that have also. The best advice i can give is to start slow. take half the dosage. dont over due your exercise, and talk to your dr. like they all say. Personally i have recently begun taking caffeine free hydroxycut and it has been the only weightloss supplement that i have felt comfortable taking. I am certain that this is because it is caffeine free.

Caffine Free Works September 25, 2007
Reviewer: HarleyGirl71 from Chicago Area

I have been using the Caffine free hydroxycut and have NO ill side effects as some others claim. I follow the instructions. I am though not on any medication and am healthy heart and kidney wise. So far in one week i've lost 3lbs which I have been trying to loose the final 10lbs since I quit smoking.I've also noticed that my muscles seem to be getting more cut faster with the work out routine I have been doing. So far I love this product. Again with any type of supplement or herbs or vitamins, you NEED to consult your doctor to see if this is something your body can handle

WILL CURB HUNGER!! September 21, 2007
Reviewer: Stephanie from Canada

First, many people should be posting if they use caffiene free or the regular Hydroxycut. I have been taking the CAFFIENE FREE version for 5 days now and I love it! I was counting my caloric intake before I started taking the product and for the past 5 days my caloric intake per day is down by at least 500 cals per day. I exericise as well so I know this will have an added benefit.

This is not a product that will give you more energy or any of the nasty side effects that other stimulants normally do. I defiently recommend this product against any other weight loss supplements on the market.

I need to lose 10 pounds for my wedding and I am sure that I will be posting back in a few weeks to tell you that I reached my goal with this product!

Reviewer: Pooh bear from Cedar City, UT

So far I have only been taking the caffeine-free Hydroxycut for 3 days and I have to say it really does seem to curb my hunger. sometimes I feel a little sick and get headaches but that may be because I started taking the full dose right out of the starting gate. I may cut back a little but still continue to take it. This is the first product I have ever tried that just may work!

This pill makes me feel a little ill. September 14, 2007
Reviewer: Josephine from VIRGINIA, U.S.A

Consulted doctor, started taking Hydroxycut Hardcore. Been taking it exactly as directed! I eat VERY healthy, workout and take a multi vitamin. I was getting used to taking one pill twice daily, first couple of days felt a little sick and 'jittery' feeling. I raised the dose today like it instructed to two pills twice a day (only taken morning does today) and I feel pretty ill so I think I may just stick to taking one pill twice daily instead of two pills twice daily or I may quit taking them all together. I worry that they will harm me if they don't agree with me. Certain pills may agree with some and not agree with others, you just have to find what works for you without making you sick :)

ok, so i just started taking the caffeine free hydroxycut on sunday and i swear i have to pee all the time. did that happen to anyone? Also I need to lose at least 10lbs by Sept 12th, is that possible? After reading all the reviews on here, I see a lot of pros and cons and I'm kind of skeptical now. I workout every night by doing crunches and weights but I really can't do any cardio because of my son and also school. I also watch what I eat and how much, so I was wondering can I lose those 10lbs by Sept 12th?

Hydroxycut July 20, 2007
Reviewer: Anonymous from USA

I thought the pills would help me to lose weight.

I had three kids and weigh 150lbs.I started three days ago along with exercising and dieting. The first day after taking I felt great. With lots of energy. Day two and day three I felt good but starting getting tired feeling wanted to just go to sleep. Day four I took dosage it said to take I got scared quit taking. I got very drowsy, irritable, stomach cramped little and stayed hungry. Thought I was going to pass out. It was the worse feeling I have ever felt. I don't think diet pills are safe at all. My husband didn't want me to take in the first place I should have listened to him. He loves me the way I am. Also if you think About it of course you are going to lose weight if you exercise and cutback on eating habits. You don't need diet pills which are probally causing more harm than good.

I lost 32 lbs so far. July 09, 2007
Reviewer: Joe Blow from Clearwater, MN

I've been taking hydroxycut for about two months. I didn't start riding bike until about 1 1/2 months ago. I was 240 lbs. and now I'm at 208 lbs. I've lost about 32 lbs. At first, it was water weight that I lost. When I started excercising, riding my bike, etc., I could see vast improvement. I only take half of the recommended dosage. I will eventually start weightlifting soon. I'll keep you people up to date.

Unlike another diet pill I tried (lipo-6)this CAFFEINE FREE version has not given me any strange side effects. While my cravings aren't completely gone, I can see the improvement. I am keeping track of my diet and will be heading to the gym tomorrow (I wanted to play it safe on the first day). I'll keep everyone updated!

"Random Sample" of users here?? May 04, 2007
Reviewer: Rob G from Charlotte, NC

First, I commend the sponsors of this site for providing this message board. It's helpful and interesting. I suspect, and that's all I can say, "suspect", that there will be a tendency for those who have had less than perfect experiences to come here to report them. It is good, of course, that they can and do. I think it should be remembered, though, that it is likely to be those who received "unexpected" results that are more likely to post. After all, when we buy a new product, we expect nearly perfect, uneventful performance. So when consumers of the largest-selling weight loss supplement wade into a message board, it may be that the dissatisfied are disproportionately represented, leaving the new visitor an unnecessarily negative impression. As many have posted, "it's not for everyone" and yes, you should consult your doctor and yes, you should back down dosage or quit altogether if negative side effects persist and yes, you should be alert to weaning yourselves off the product in time. I can't imagine it would benefit anyone but the manufacturer to somehow be dependent on this supplement forever. That's my two cents-worth! I'm an early user with tentative success and no serious side effects. In fact, I admit to rather enjoying positive side-effects probably related to the Norepinephrine effects, feeling somewhat more calm and comfortable with saying "no" to another helping or even, yes, another drink in the evening.

Water loss April 17, 2007
Reviewer: My name is Dan and I've been clean for.. from California

What hydroxy cut does is eliminate the water from your body, hence why you "always gotta go when you're on it". You get the same effect when drinking green tea.

What I don't like about this product is that one serving is 3 capsules for the "full" effect. That's 9 capsules in a day. Products like MAN Scorch require 1 serving twice a day for the same effectiveness.

Also, with any thermogenic supplement, your body will get used to the stimulants and you will need to up the dosage after two or three weeks. With any kind of stimulant, caffeine, sugar, cocaine, etc. your body will develop a dependency on the product and depending on the make of your body, it will either be sooner or later. That's why people cycle off. And that's where the problem is.

Once you're off the stuff, it's harder for your body to do the same functions without the stimulant, like burning calories. It becomes less efficient because before it had all kinds of help from the thermogenics and now there aren't any. That's why when you're off, you gain weight. Then when you cycle back on, it takes longer for you to get the same results. Just like any other drug.

I'm ranting because I took this stuff on and off for two years, starting with the ECA stack version, "original version with ephedrine." I worked out a lot so I used Hydroxycut to get cut fast, but every time I went off of it, I gained weight. I never changed my diet or workout routine, just cycled on and off Hydroxycut. When I was on, man my results were fantastic, but when I was off, I felt tired and un-motivated. Finally, I took myself completely off in '06 and haven't used it since. Feels like my body has finally gotten back to normal.

Anyways, believe what I said or don't believe what I said, there should be two things you need to take from this article 1) it removes water from your body, excess or not; which will make you light headed, susceptible to dizziness or fainting; and 2) it's a stimulant, like drugs are, so you're body will grow a tolerance to it. You will need to take more of it to get the same results. Even if it is caffeine-free, there's other stimulants in the recipe.

Just be careful and if you're on Hydroxycut, when you get off, better do twice the amount of cardio and weight lifting because you're body is going to be less efficient in burning calories which means gaining weight.

I love this product. I want to make sure everyone knows this review is for Caffeine Free! I know other reviewers might have gotton this blog confused with the regular hydroxycut. I love this product. It takes about 2 weeks to really get in your system and start working but when it does, it is a miracleworker! You have to make sure to excercise regularly this is a must. You must also diet, just like the instructions advise. I started this product about 3 weeks ago and have lost 9-10 pounds. Before I was excersing and dieting just as I am now and couldnt loose those extra pounds for anything, but as soon as I started the pill they started disappering.

ok This should inspire some people.

My name is Destiny, I am 19, 5'4 and DID weigh 220lbs..

I Have lost 40lbs in 3 months using hydroxycut caffine free, I now weigh 180lbs.

I do EXACTLY As the bottle says. I take 2 in the morning at 9, then eat at 10. 2 n the afternoon at 1 and eat at 2, 2 in the evening at 5 and eat at 6. It has HUGLEY reduced my appitite, and has REALLY helped me reach my weight loss potential without all of the negative side effects. HOWEVER when I FIRST Started to loose weight I was just taking REGUALR hydroxycut and was having headaches, ALOT of anxiety attacks and constantly felt like I was going to have a heart attack. I HAD OPEN HEART SURGERY when I was 4 years old, I had a hole in my heart and they had to go in and patch it up. So the regular hydroxycut was as good as DEADLY to me. HOWEVER, started taking the CAFFINE FREE VERSION 3 months ago and have lost 40lbs since with

ABSOLUTLEY NONE

of the bad side effects I was experiencing with the regular hydroxycut product.

Again, I say...DO YOUR HOMEWORK March 20, 2007
Reviewer: Karen T from Florida

Look, I applaud those who keep coming in here to repeat two very important things: 1) CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR, and 2) THIS METHOD OF WEIGHT LOSS IS NOT FOR EVERYONE.

Here is another piece of ACTUAL medical fact that MOST dieters do NOT understand, because they do NOT CONSULT THEIR DOCTORS. Hydroxycut does, in fact, have an ingredient which increases your metabloism and causes the body to BURN FAT. It is NOT just removing the water from your body. The makers are NOT telling you to drink water just because your body is only losing water weight. Seriously, think how that sounds? If all Hydroxycut does is remove water weight, than the addition of water throughout the day would totally counter the effects of the pill.

BUT...BUT...BUT...the average human being does NOT know that within each and every fat cell in the body are also TOXINS. Yes, that's right: you, yourself are carrying around TONS of TOXINS within those fat cells you're trying to burn off. That is one of the primary functions of fat cells: to absorb toxins and remove them from the blood stream, muscles, etc. But, when you BURN THEM OFF, either thru weight loss, or by normal metabolic function, those TOXINS are RELEASED back into your system.

For most people utilizing slow, normal weight programs, the burning off fat cells and subsequent release of the toxins back into the body causes no noticeable side-effect. Those toxins are absorbed back into the blood stream and removed thru the kidney's normal functions. HOWEVER...when utilizing a FAST fat-cell burning method such as this, your body can become OVERWHELMED by the toxins and not be able to FLUSH them from your system fast enough. HENCE, you have a build up of these toxins and HENCE, you have SIDE EFFECTS which are NOT directly related to Hydroxycut, per se, but are the result of the build up of toxins in your system.

People, people, people, EDUCATE YOURSELVES!!! READ about body metabolism processes first. CONSULT your doctor. START slow, MONITOR yourself closely, EAT RIGHT and......if YOU recognize that you are experiencing too many of the POTENTIAL SIDE EFFECTS LISTED, then QUIT TAKING IT.

ALL of the above...ALL of these recommendations are included in the WARNING information which Hydroxycut supplies! OMG...WHY would you take ANYTHING without being THOROUGHLY informed!

We have become a pill-popping, miracle expecting society of persons TOO busy to treat their bodies right. Treat your BODY like your CAR....MAINTAIN IT ACCORDING TO THE MANUFACTURERS SPECIFICATIONS!!!!!

And if you DON'T, if you SLACK on that, don't blame the MECHANIC for the $1,000 repair bill YOU CAUSED YOURSELF!

I only managed to get to the 2 in the morning though. All day at school I was shaky and sweating and my heart was beating fast. I felt like everyone was stareing at me. I don't know if i should go to the white bottle thats just hydroxycut. I understand that everyone else here weighs some what more than me. I dont care how much I weigh I just want to loose fat around my stomach. From reading soem of these reviews on the hydroxycut though im kindof scared. And isnt it bad if your loosing fluid from your body? because hydroxy means water and cut means loosing the fluids. im just so confused.

Silly situations... February 06, 2007
Reviewer: Adam M. from Mandeville, LA USA

If you are taking this product and are experiencing terrible side effects, I would bet money on the fact that you are one of the know-it-alls who did not consult your doctor before taking Hydroxycut, as Hydroxycut and EVERY OTHER PILL ON THE MARKET insists. Different people react differently to different things, especially when it comes to stimulants like caffeine. When I heard of a woman having a heart attack on the treadmill directly after taking Hydroxycut, I was shocked and a little afraid. When it was discerned that the woman was sensitive to caffeine, I was a little angry. The bottle states that one serving of Hydoxycut contains the equivalent of 2 large cups of coffee. And the woman had the balls to do cardio? God help her.

Also, it has come to my attention after reading many of these reviews that the dosages were not remotely consistent with the bottle's explicit instructions. Having problems? I bet you are.

I have been taking Hydroxycut for a few months now and have experienced absolutely none of the negative side-effects. I follow the instructions exactly, save that I do not take the third daily dosage. I do not have diarrhea or mineral loss, because I eat properly and take a multi-vitamin. I do not lose sleep because I do not take it within five hours of going to sleep (sound familiar? Read the bottle). I do not become dizzy, irritated, or exhausted because I consulted my physician prior to taking Hydroxycut and discerned that it was unlikely for me to be susceptible to its adverse side-effects.

The problems stated on this page are ridiculous, and it frustrates me that so many people were not cautious enough to read the instructions or even learn how their bodies would react to Hydroxycut.

I can't prove it but how else can you explain the name of this supplement?"

He should do some more "chemical" research and maybe he will find out that the name of the product shouldn't be divided by HYDRO and CUT (they put the XY in between because it was cute!) but in HYDROXY and CUT (anything related to hydroxycitric acid????? WOW! MAYBE!!!!!!!). Please, if you want to discuss sth you don't know, at least (!!!!!!) do your homework properly!!!!!!!

Followup: Caffeine vs. Caffeince FREE versions February 02, 2007
Reviewer: Karen T from Florida

I've been taking the CAFFEINE FREE version for about a week now. I take only 2-4 per day: 2 very early and 2 very late. Already, I am noticing a "slimming" around my waist and belly, with absolutely no ill side effects whatsoever. My heart rhythm remains constant; there have been no palipitations; my sleep is not interrupted; my appetite has diminished slighty.

Again, as a person who DOES HER HOMEWORK, as one who HAS a condition which needs close monitoring (the absence of a thyroid) I can NOT strees enough that no one should EVER take anything before doing the research yourslef. Herbs, vitamins, weight loss formulas, even prescription medications ALL contains risks of side effects for some people.

You should ALWAYS start slow and build up to the maximum, backing off IMMEDIATELY if you notice the side effects. Sorry as I am for the tragedy reported here, personally I still suspect it would be the CAFFEINE variety and that should never, ever have been taken by a post-partum woman! For that matter, absolutely NO weight loss formula should EVER be taken by a post-partum woman until such times as her DOCTOR recommends one.

It is a well established, well known fact that during this time, the female body's entire hormonal/chemical balance is completely out of sync! The post-partum state is a time of DRAMATIC shift. There is no doctor on the planet that would even remotely approve, or condone, the use of a RAPID WEIGHT LOSS diet supplement during this time.

Again, I say -- for all persons concerned -- it would be far more beneficial to all if commentors would identify WHICH version is being used, in what amounts, what the height/weight is of the user, and not just the side effects. I'm even going to ask the Webmaster to add these questions in the format and make them necessary to answer before posting. Random, vague, tragic or dramatic comments about individual experiences are not very helpful.

just be well informed January 29, 2007
Reviewer: D.E.C. from Colorado

After reading several of these posts regarding HydroxyCut, I think that there is some confusion about the products.

It is important to understand that there are two versions of HydroxyCut - a regular, stimulant formula (with caffeine), and a caffeine-free form. It is likely that the people who have posted with symptoms such as rapid heartbeat, shortness of breath, etc. are taking the stimulant form of HydroxyCut. In addition, it is possible that the irritability is caused from not eating well.

The headache reported for the caffeine-free HydroxyCut is probably due to dehydration (as the bottle states: drink 8 full glasses of water per day). Drinking more water could reduce these symptoms.

The Gymnema Sylvestre Extract in HydroxyCut controls glucose levels in the blood, which is probably why people report not feeling as hungry.

Just be well-informed about the ingredients and progress slowly. I take ONE pill before breakfast, and ONE pill before lunch, then a afternoon workout. I take a multi-vitamin with dinner and get a full night sleep.

And, as always, consult your physician or health-care provider BEFORE starting ANY type of fitness routine.

Caffeine-Free vs The Others January 24, 2007
Reviewer: Karen T from USA, Florida

I have just started taking the CAFFEINE-FREE Hydroxycut and just got through reading many of the responses. As far as I can tell, those with bad side effects are NOT taking the caffeine-free variety, but the other. Caffeine is a major, potent stimulant which, if you will do your homework, you will find exterts virtually the SAME level of potentially harmful side effects on the human body as COCAINE!! These side effects include dizziness, heart palpataions, racing heart, heart-attack symptoms, fainting, loss of apetite, loss of sleep, nervousness, anxiety, etc.

I do want to read honest feed-back from people who've taken this and I am hoping -- by posting this -- that persons who post after me will be careful to clarify whether they are referring to the caffeine-free variety, or the regular ones.

As for the comment about it being nothing but a 'water burner", no, chemically speaking, it is not. Again, from personal research, I know that at minimum the ingredient Chromium is a well known metabolism stimulant and causes the body to utilize the fat cells for energy more effectively, thus burning them up.

I'm 46, 5'7'', a former dancer, with no thyroid, on Synthroid & Inderal, and suffering from a herniated disc which causes me extreme pain when I allow myself to exceed my optimum weight. I went up to 210 pounds following my surgery, eventually walked off 70 pounds, kept it off for 1 year, then injured my toe badly. Over the course of the last year, however, the toe injury, stress and other factors caused me to regain about 30 pounds and I can not tolerate the back pain.

I'm using this product to kick-start my weight loss once again; I intend to walk at least 4 miles twice a week again, and I very much want to closely, closely monitor even the slightest potentially bad side effects. So, I will continue to report on my progress.

But again, I hope people will post past me and clarify which product they use; especially persons with medical conditions such as mine.

I took this product about a year ago and stopped when i couldn't afford it. Yes, it made me lose weight. I would take them before bed and wake up feeling thinner. But, on the other hand, I lost a lot of sleep.

I started taking it again in the fall and ended up having a seizure. I wasn't rushed to the hospital simply because the person i was with didn't take me. But, I remember feeling like my heart was beating fast and sometimes it would feel like it was trying to pump molasses or something. I stopped taking it again and a couple days later, I fainted at work.

Now, I'm taking caffeine-free and the only significant change is a slight head-ache, fatigue, and a barely-there stomach ache. Of course, I'm just relating all this to some personal problems I'm having. Who knows? So far, no fainting spells.

I have been using Caffeine Free Hydroxycut for over 2 months now. I love it. It curbs my appetite while at work, but it also gives me the energy that I need for my evening workouts. I do eat regularly and I lower my next day dosage if I get headaches. I know some people have had the bad side effects, but that's true with any medication type product, SOME PEOPLE get the side effects. I have lost over 15 pounds and I think I will continue to use this product until I am able to devote more time to working out. In the meantime, this product is just an added boost to help me get going in my weight loss goal.

Be careful January 19, 2007
Reviewer: Ashley from Chicago, IL

After working out very hard for about 6 months and not getting the results I wanted my trainer suggested this product. I started using this product but I only use it before my workout. I take it about 30 minutes before. I only take it 4-5 times a week, and not for every single workout. I have not had headaches but today I did almost passed out, but I think it was because I had not been able to eat dinner yet. My advice (and also of my trainer who told me about this) would be only take it before exercising, and make sure you eat something before you workout. For me atleast I feel ill working out after I eat, I eat dried fruit because it is high in carbs but low in calories. All in all be careful.

If you value your life, DO NOT TAKE HYDROXYCUT! January 11, 2007
Reviewer: Ani from Laie, HI

There are too many risks involved with this product and it is not worth your life. If you want to lose weight, see your doctor, ask a trainer at the gym or go to a weight loss clinic. I took this product for a month and I had panic attacks, anxiety, I got hot and sweaty, my blood pressure was high, my heart was pumping so fast, and I was shaky.

I think it is dangerous January 10, 2007
Reviewer: Eliott from Washington DC, USA

Hi,

Has anyone asked himself or herself what HYDROxyCUT actually mean? HYDRO is water and CUT is you well know what it means. Basically, it removes liquids from your body, not the fat which is bad. Many pointed out that one of the side-effects was diarrhea which may cause dehydration. Basically, you are losing weight because you body is losing water, not fat. I can't prove it but how else can you explain the name of this supplement?

I almost lost my life... January 09, 2007
Reviewer: Mas from San Diego, CA

I am a 29 year old male, 6 ft. tall, and weigh 260 lbs. I decided to take hydroxycut to give me a boost in losing weight and getting my body toned. I followed the directions, which calls for 2 pills 30 min. to 60 min. before meals. I took 2 before breakfast, 2 before lunch, and 2 before dinner. At first, I could feel my body losing the weight and my system was flushing out everything I put into it. I took 2 bottles of the caffine free and started on the hardcore. After about 4 days of starting the hardcore, I had headaches, I felt my heart racing, my blood pressure was sky-high, I had shortness of breath and I was rushed to the emergency room. The Dr. strongly advised me to never take HydroxyCut ever again. It's been 4 weeks since I stopped taking HydroxyCut and I still I have the jitters, the shakes, shortness of breath, I can't concentrate, and I've had 2 additional visits to the ER and have taken several trips to the Dr.'s office. DO NOT TAKE THIS PRODUCT!!! YOU WILL END UP IN THE HOSPITAL!!!

P.S. This product does not deserve a star, I only chose 1 because I had to.

Take it SLOW January 05, 2007
Reviewer: Tina from Indianapolis, IN

I've only been taking hydroxycut for a week & already I LOVE it! I only take 3 pills a day, drink lots of water and I go to the gym 2 hours each day.I haven't been on the scale yet, but I definetly don't eat as much and I can do cardio A LOT longer.

I read a lot of reviews & a lot of these people didn't specify the dosage they were taking, their age, health issues etc.

I'm not trying to judge but if you're just starting out on anything you want to take it SLOW. 6 pills a day may be too much for some people. If you already have health problems or you're already on medication then chances are, a diet pill isn't healthy for you. Also, since Hydroxycut curbs your appetite don't starve yourself, still eat! I did experience a stomach ache the second day but that was because I wasn't eating enough.

A full 8 hours of sleep is nessacary as well. It gives you energy and that's the reason why you need good rest. That could possibly be the reason behind the headaches some people are experiencing. I'm not a doctor but I recommend Hydroxycut for all those with no health problems & a young healthy heart.

It works - but not sure in right health way? December 23, 2006
Reviewer: Ariel from Asia

I have been using hydroxycut for at least 2 mths to boost metablic rate during my 4-5 kms runs. It defintiely works, gives lots of energy and yes, weight loss. But hey, listen, I have experienced rapid heart rate increase, yes, more aggression and heavy chest pressures. It does keep you awake, that is how effective it is. The reason why I am stil awake now, with my heart beating so fast, 3 hours after my run, and 4 hours after taking 2 pills...and checking the side effects of hydroxycut.

The chest discomforts worries me. I have a hunch it is bad for my heart. So for those considering taking it on long run, i advise, get on a slow and gradual exercise program and proper nutrition. Use hydroxycut only for those times you need an extra boost. Do not overdose. and doe not use it as a sole weight loss aid. Your health and life may be the only thing you end up losing.

my experience with hydroxycut November 28, 2006
Reviewer: Pat Sciera from New York, New York USA

I used hydroxycut for a whole week and i lost 5 pounds. It is a good fat burner but they have bad side effects. I quit using it because i was getting bad headaches in the back of my head and i was beyond exhausted. I slept for a whole day because i was so tired. one night during the use i was shivering terribly and i knew then that i was finished. Then i took a hot shower and was still shivering in the shower. when i got out of the shower i thought i was going to die. my blood pressure was through the roof and i was dangerously warm. I skipped college fo the day because i was sick that whole day. I also noticed that i had no ability to consentrate. I need consentration for my job and school and that is why I am quitting. If you notice that you are going through the side efects then don't keep taking it. IT IS NOT WORTH IT. However if it works for you and you dont go through side effects then that is good for you. I just think diet and exercise is better. so you dont have to feel so exhausted. Thank you for reading.

Reviewer: BBeers from USA

I started taking a week ago. I lost 5 lbs which made me excited! It defiantely curbs my hunger, I am definately not craving food, hardly think about eating.

But have been feeling extremely tired and irritable, no patience and can't concentrate. Wasn't sure what it was and figured better check this product out in more depth.

Found this website and read other people with same symptoms - I'm going to stop - disappointed thought it would help give me the boost I need to lose 20 lbs by the end of tax season.

I can't concentrate, took for only 3 days though November 08, 2006
Reviewer: Hubbahubba from Anytown, AT 55555

Ok, i took this product only for three days, and from the first day I started taking it, I've noticed that for some reason I can't concentrate on anything, and not only during my classes, but also everywhere else... And since taking "Hydroxycut Caffeine free" was the only thing I've started doing differently that day and following 2 days, I think that was the reason of my unability to concentrate. And also I've noticed very slight headache on the back of my head, very slight but annoying. Anyway, I've decided to stop taking it. Maybe it does work for some people, and maybe it would've worked for me if I took it for longer period of time, but I dont want to take a risk cause with my school and eveyrday life I need to stay concentrated and headache free:)

So, if you decide to try it, make sure to buy it from somewhere you can at least return it within 30 or 60 days, in case if you dont like it. Otherwise, I'd suggest to try for yourself, it may work for you:) But dont keep taking it if you have any side effects. Good luck!

PS: I am not a doctor and the statement above is is not a medical advise (and dont take it as such), I am just an average guy who is trying to lose weight and sharing his experience!

Works with a little nudge October 03, 2006
Reviewer: Mike from Pa

Like one of the previous reviewers I realized that intially I appeared to gain wait but after increasing my water consumption pounds seemed to just fall off. I lost 7 pounds in the first week while taking a week layoff from the gym that amazed me! I am continuing to see a loss as I start up my lifting cycle again and have lost and addtional 2 pounds in the past 3 days. I was intially 222 and am now currently 213 pounds. The raw change in appearance is staggering. The lack of caffeine works to allow mr to still sleep and the appetite suppresant does not stop me from eating except that I no longer crave midnight snacks. I can not to speak for anyone but myself but my personal experience has been amazing and I look forward to teh results in a few more weeks.

good fat burner but bad side effects October 01, 2006
Reviewer: Aaron from Ohio

I to have done this caffiene free hydroxycut and have lost 10 pounds in a week (along with running and weight lifting). Don't forget some of this 10 pounds is water weight. On the 6th day I started having severe headache and high blood pressure (I am a fireman/paramedic so I keep an eye on sugar and b/p). I have never had these persistant symptoms before. I urge everyone to watch taking this, you have to think-weight loss or hypertension, stroke, or maybe even a heartattack. IS IT WORTH IT? It does suppress your appetite and aids in weight loss, but I'm thinking is it a psychological thing taking these pills or is it really the pills? I am quitting these things (hydroxycut) and we'll see what happens. Read all of these reviews on here from other people, this might be the one for some but not for all.

Reviewer: Stephanie from Pittsburgh, PA USA

About three years ago, I hit a huge low point in my life. At 5-foot 1-inch, I weighed 140 lbs, and I was completely out of shape. It didn't feel good about myself and decided to make some changes. I began going to the gym regularly (3 to 5 times a week) and eating healthier (smaller portions, well-rounded diet, less carbs, taking a multivitamin). After about 8 months or so, I physically felt much better but had only lost about two or three pounds. I decided to try Hydroxycut. The first few weeks, I did have side effects such as headaches and slight nausea. Eventually with continued use, the side effects faded. Witin six months of continuing my regular routine and using Hydroxycut, I lost 20 pounds. I felt great! Everyone complimented me on how great I looked. Everyone wanted my secret.

I definitely recommend Hydroxycut for individuals serious about feeling better about themselves. Of course, exercising and eating a well-balanced meal is just as important as taking those few pills a day. A few weeks of side effects was definitely worth losing those 20 pounds and feeling good about myself again!

The Good, Bad and Ugly September 13, 2006
Reviewer: ... from Long Island, New York

YES... Hydroxycut helps you lose weight as promised, and YES... it takes away your hunger pains so you eat less... and YES... it helps you eat less when you do actually eat. BUT I have also experienced irritability with my family that I have never had before, and had some strange results during routine blood work I had done last month. The doctor said that I had become anemic - which means very low iron. He also pointed out that my red blood cell count was lower than normal and put me on a iron pill suppliment right away. Perhaps the iron deficiency may have also had something to do with the dieting I was involved in, as I stayed away from red meat in my diet.

I really found this product worked great for me but would urge users to be sure to take multivitamins with iron, just incase this was a side effect of the product.

Curbed Appetite, Bad Side Effects August 20, 2006
Reviewer: Emily from New York, NY

I started taking Caffeine-Free Hydroxycut about 4 days ago. After the second dose, I started to get the most painful headaches I have ever had in my entire life.

My appetite was definately gone (probably because of the headaches), and I had to go to the ER. The doctor advised me to not use this supplement, it may work for others- but for some it is useless.

I'd rather not have shooting pains in my head and just work extra hard at the gym.

Be very careful with this drug.

No Jitters, No hunger May 16, 2006

I am getting ready to spend two weeks in on the beach in a bikini. I have returned to Caffeine free Hydroxycut because a year ago it helped me lose those last few pounds. It is energizing but doesn't make me jittery and I agree with everyone who says it keeps the hunger pains away. Some how, you just don't think about food as much and portion control when you do eat, is easier. I only take 2/3 of the recommended dose.

But then I realized that I wasn't drinking enough water and therefore was retaining it. After I started to drink the required amount of water, the pounds seemed to drop quite a bit. I've already lot about 7 and am still going. The amazing thing is that I'm never jumpy or shaking. The caffeine free thing is really great for my heart as well! I would totally suggest this product for anyone who wants to loose a bit of weight without the harsh effects of caffeine.

Best I can find OTC so far... I haven't tried them all tho September 23, 2005
Reviewer: Mitzi from West TExas

I like this OTC metabolism booster because it really does stay the hunger pains and obsessions which is my biggest problem. I just can't quit thinking about food and this does it for me. Even when I eat I have to "choke" it down because it just isn't as appealing to me. I don't know how much is placebo effect as to how much is actual but I really think the best part of this product is the appetite suppressing qualities and the lack of that horrible nervous feeling you get from ephedrine or caffeine. The only feeling unfamiliar to me is the one losing weight without trying and I can feel my body burning and I think I do have more energy though not much more. I'm afraid to quit it and try anything else, afterall why should I when I'm happy with this. I have used one bottle so far and have lost 10 lbs.

I weigh 195 and I just started this product. I drink water regularly anyway so we'll see what happens after 2 bottles worth of this product.

I'm into my third day and I must say it takes away hunger pangs! I regularly lift weights 3 days a week- Mon, Wed, and Fri, thats it.

Now I will do The cross country elipse machine for 15 minutes before each workout while on this product 3 days a week.

I'll get back to this thread with full results after 2 full months...following their directions ofcourse. Oh, I eat a low carb high protein diet.
